Caledonian MacBrayne Ferry will also let you see much of Scotland as you travel through some of the finest scenery in the world. You have a choice of travelling up through the spectacular Scottish highlands to Ullapool and catching a ferry to Stornoway. Stornoway is a 15minute drive from Ranish. Alternatively, come across the Isle of Skye and catch a ferry from Uig to Tarbert, Harris which is around an hours drive from Ranish.

From Stornoway

Follow signs for A859 Tarbert - this will lead you out of the town

Stay on A859 for approx 4 miles, you will see three wind turbines… turn left at turbines towards Ranish (Ranais).  Remain on this road for approx 4 miles… and mind the sheep!

Follow road for approx ½ mile. As road bends sharply to left, Lochs House B&B is on the right hand side opposite a sign that says "Beware - concealed entrance". There is plenty of parking.

From Harris

Follow A859 to Stornoway until you reach Leurbost. Turn right to Ranish (Also Grimshader, Crossbost etc.) Follow Road for approx 3 miles.
Turn Left to Ranish. Continue for approx ½ mile.
Turn Left to Ranish again. Continue for approx ½ mile.
You will see a sign to turn Right for Ranish -
DO NOT TURN RIGHT!
Continue straight on, road will turn sharply to left and up a hill.
At the top of the hill and as road bends to right, you will see LOCHS HOUSE B&B.

There is plenty of parking.
